Rhapsody Audiophile Recordings (RAR)
Rhapsody lanceert Rhapsody Audiophile Recordings of kortweg: RAR. Dit platenlabel brengt alleen analoge en audiofiele opnames uit. Het is een samenwerking van Michael van Polen, Frans de Rond (www.fransderond.nl) en Harry van Dalen gebaseerd op hun gemeenschappelijke passie voor geluid, klank en muziek.
Er zijn al verschillende albums als vinyl, SACD en tape verschenen. Een aantal zijn live-to-two-track-recordings die het moment dat muziek gemaakt wordt, direct en puur vastlegt.

Marnix Busstra – Dances with Silence – (vinyl)
In April 2021 Marnix Busstra a well-known Dutch guitar player contacted us for a meeting to show his new ideas for a solo bouzouki album that was already recorded digitally, (our relationship goes way back, and did beautiful projects on our former labels with Marnix) we were totally in for a re-recording to analog tape so Marnix told us… well, no.. this is it, man!! So we were like okay?? It was so important for Marnix because he was totally in a meditative state of silence at that point so the full energy of the struggle during the covid period was captured. So if we want to make this a RAR recording then we must produce it a little with some new material too to make it a little more commercial. So Marnix agreed!
It was quite a challenge to create a big organic sound, So I took the digital recording to my home studio and pushed it to tape with all kinds of exotic equipment of Rhapsody high-end audio, and a few days later of testing and after all sorts of experiments it came to this beautiful result. De Japanse pianiste Atzko Kohashi en de Nederlandse percussionist Eddy Koopman lijken een niet voor de hand liggende combinatie. Maar deze twee open geesten weten grenzenloos de jaargetijden op volstrekt eigen wijze te verlevendigen en muzikaal vorm te geven. Donder en bliksem, verstilling en elan, hemelhoog en aards, een avontuurlijke reis op het ritme van de getijden.
