Rhapsody Audiophile Recordings (RAR)
Rhapsody launches Rhapsody Audiophile Recordings or RAR for short. This record label releases only analog and audiophile recordings. It is a collaboration of Michael van Polen, Frans de Rond (www.fransderond.nl) and Harry van Dalen based on their shared passion for sound, tone and music.
Several albums have already been released as vinyl, SACD and tape. Some of them are live-to-two-track-recordings which captures the moment when music is made directly and purely.

Marnix Busstra - Dances with Silence - (vinyl)
In April 2021 Marnix Busstra a well known Dutch guitar player contacted us for a meeting to show his new ideas for a solo bouzouki album that was already recorded digitally, (our relationship goes way back, and did beautiful projects on our former labels with Marnix) we were totally in for a re-recording to analog tape so Marnix told us... well, no.... this is it, man!!! So we were like okay? It was so important for Marnix because he was totally in a meditative state of silence at that point so the full energy of the struggle during the covid period was captured. So if we want to make this a RAR recording then we must produce it a little with some new material too to make it a little more commercial. So Marnix agreed!
It was quite a challenge to create a big organic sound, So I took the digital recording to my home studio and pushed it to tape with all kinds of exotic equipment of Rhapsody high-end audio, and a few days later of testing and after all sorts of experiments it came to this beautiful result. Japanese pianist Atzko Kohashi and Dutch percussionist Eddy Koopman may not seem an obvious combination. But these two open minds know how to enliven and musically shape the seasons in their own completely unique way.
