For over 40 years I have been selling Audio Research and from the very beginning I have also been addicted to this brand. Famous are Audio Research's pre- and phono amplifiers. I will never forget the arrival of the AR SP6, wow was that. Many years later my idea completely shifted how high the level of a preamp could be with the AR SP10. William Z. Johnson was among the greatest audio designers of our time. As we know, William is no longer among us but the AR team also managed to surprise us with the REF5 SE which was completely developed by the team.
Now the REF5 SE is succeeded by a REF6 and after 700 hours of playing in, I get the feeling again that something special has been made and this feeling is not only with me but also with Michael (new reference?). You can combine the REF6 linestage with the REF3 phonostage. The REF3 is a very sophisticated preamplifier where every element setting is possible. After long listening we can say that this is one of the most beautiful preverter we know. And how wonderful it is to have these 2 products in our package, so yes absolutely Amazing Products.
